Tracing Digital Print
"My work plays upon the ideas of mechanical reproduction,
generation and transformation. I collect scans of hands. The hand begins as a tangible form that is then archived as source material. While documenting a person's presence I am also capturing a moment and recording his or her touch. Each filed hand is then edited and reproduced in multiple forms- as a
sculpture, a sketch, a painting, a photograph. In this process of continuous reproduction and transformation of form and material I contemplate our ability to grasp connections with one another, the past, present and future." |
