Art/Music Submissions Image of Jared Tarbell's piece from the first AMODA Exhibition

We are always interested in receiving submissions from artists and musicians for possible inclusion in our events. For more details on how to submit your work, please see below.

VISUAL ART

We are open to receiving a wide range of visual art submissions, including anything that we would define as digital art. Please see our About Digital Art page for more information.

However, since AMODA currently has no permanent exhibition space, there are some types of visual art that are more practical for us to present than others. In particular, we are seeking artwork to display in our Digital Showcase Series. The Digital Showcase is a one night only event featuring live electronic music and visual art in a social setting, such as a bar or nightclub.

The forms of art that work well in these events are video art, computer animation, digital prints, performance pieces, live video sets, multimedia installations, and interactive pieces. To submit visual art for our Digital Showcases Series (or a general art submission), please send an email to visual.art@amoda.org. (See the submission guidelines below for more info on what to include in your email.)

MUSIC

There are two types of AMODA events that feature musicians. The Digital Showcase Series features live electronic music, DJ sets, and visual art in a social setting, such as a bar or nightclub. The music in these events typically involves beats or other fun, accessible elements. To submit music for our Digital Showcase Series, please send an email to our Digital Showcase Director, Todd Simmons at simmons@amoda.org. (See the submission guidelines below for more info on what to include in your email.)

The other AMODA program that features musicians is the Performance Series. These shows present digital performance art and experimental music in a seated, contemplative setting. The music in these events tends to be improvised, ambient, drone-like, or textural in nature. To submit music for our Performance Series, please contact our Performance Series Director at performance@amoda.org. (See the submission guidelines below for more info on what to include in your email.)

FLYER ILLUSTRATION

Each Digital Showcase and Performance features a different flyer illustrator. If you would like your work to be considered, please contact our Creative Team Director, Kathryn Sauceda at sauceda@amoda.org. (See the submission guidelines below for more info on what to include in your email.)

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Examples of your work:

  • when you send a submission, please include examples of your art, music, etc.
  • we strongly prefer a link to a website where we can view or listen to examples of your work
  • if this is not possible, you may attach images, audio files, or short video files to your email

Short bio and work description:

  • it would also be helpful to include a short bio and a description of your work
  • this may include your history as an artist, where your work has previously been shown, or where you have previously performed, etc.
  • it may also include details on the concept/subject of your work, and any special display considerations
  • we prefer a link to a website where we can read this information, but you may also include it in the body of your email, or as an attachment

Submission replies:

  • we make every attempt to read and catalog all submissions, and consider them for future events
  • however, AMODA is an all-volunteer organization and cannot guarantee a reply to every submission
  • even if you do not receive a reply, please feel free to send additional submissions in the future, as you create new work

Submissions by postal mail:

  • we STRONGLY prefer to receive submissions via email only
  • your work is much more likely to be read and cataloged if you send it via email than by postal mail
  • however, if you wish to send a submission via postal mail, you may find our mailing address on our Contact Page
See our events calendar for more AMODA related events.
