AMODA is currently collaborating with Out Youth, a support organization for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth in Austin between the ages of 12 and 20. Out Youth offers support, counselling and education to youth, their friends and family, and to educators. Out Youth's main support tool is their drop-in center, where youth can come and be with supportive friends, receive counselling, and generally feel safe and welcome.

Unfortunately, not all youth can make it to the drop-in center. Through the Youth Media program, AMODA and Out Youth felt that the organization's web site would be a great way to extend the reach of the drop-in center. AMODA and Out Youth are collaborating to turn the current web site, which is largely information, into a welcoming and supporting resource for Austin youth. AMODA has enlisted character artist Yingdi Yuan (who authors "Salt the Earth," a comic strip published in The Daily Texan) to create illustrations for the new youth-friendly area of the site.

AMODA's Youth Media program with Out Youth is expected to end in the Spring of 2003, when Out Youth will take over the site. AMODA will remain available for consultation and support.
